About the Department
The Department of Surveying Technologies is considered one of the important technical departments concerned with preparing qualified technical personnel in the field of surveying and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The department aims to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in using modern surveying instruments and specialized measurement software, as well as in producing topographic and engineering maps, and analyzing geographic data to support infrastructure projects and urban development.
Department Objectives
Preparing technical cadres capable of carrying out surveying works with high accuracy and efficiency. Enabling students to use modern surveying instruments such as Total Stations and GPS devices. Developing students’ skills in using surveying software, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and engineering drawing software (AutoCAD). Enhancing the ability to analyze and process spatial data to support engineering and planning projects. Contributing to meeting the labor market needs for technicians in surveying and engineering fields. Encouraging applied research in the field of surveying technologies and their development.
Department Mission
The mission of the Department of Surveying Technologies is to prepare scientifically and practically qualified technical personnel in the fields of measurement, cartography, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), in a way that meets the needs of the local and regional labor market and contributes to supporting development and urban planning projects through the application of the latest surveying technologies.
Department Vision
To be a leading and distinguished department in education, training, and applied research in surveying technologies, and a key source for graduating qualified professionals capable of keeping pace with modern scientific and technological developments in geomatics and engineering surveying fields.
Graduate Description
A graduate of the Surveying Techniques Department is a specialized technician who possesses scientific knowledge and practical skills in the field of land surveying, engineering surveying, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He is distinguished by his ability to use the latest technical instruments and specialized software for collecting spatial data, analyzing it, producing accurate maps, and working with remote sensing systems. The graduate is qualified to work in both field and office environments, and is capable of carrying out various surveying projects such as topographic surveying, engineering surveying, geodetic surveying, and the creation of geographic databases. He also has skills in data analysis, preparing technical reports, and effective communication with engineering work teams.
