The Industrial Advisory Council at the Technical Engineering College of Alnoor University Holds Its First Meeting to Strengthen Partnership with the Labor Market
The Technical Engineering College at Alnoor University held the first session of the Industrial Advisory Council, chaired by Prof. Dr. Kamel Ali Abdul-Mohsen, Dean of the College, and attended by the council members.
This session embodies the College’s ambitious vision and its belief in the importance of building a genuine and effective partnership between higher education outcomes and the requirements of the labor market. This contributes to developing academic programs and aligning them with the needs of the engineering and industrial sectors, while enhancing students’ opportunities to acquire the skills and experience required for their future careers.
The session emphasized that the quality of academic curricula is not measured solely by the scientific content they encompass, but rather by their ability to prepare engineers who possess knowledge and practical skills, and who are capable of creativity, innovation, problem-solving, making meaningful contributions to society, and achieving sustainable development.
The session featured a fruitful discussion and constructive dialogue addressing a number of issues related to the educational and training process, ways to develop academic programs and curricula, and strengthening the practical component. It also focused on enhancing the skills of the college’s staff and aligning them more closely with the requirements of engineering and industrial institutions and sectors.
The session concluded with a set of recommendations and proposals aimed at strengthening the College’s educational process, enhancing the performance of its staff, and developing the learning and training environment in ways that would directly improve the academic level of its students and prepare them to enter the labor market with competence.
The Technical Engineering College reaffirms, through the establishment of its Industrial Advisory Council, its commitment to strengthening partnerships with professional institutions and sectors, and to transforming engineering education into a pathway that is more closely aligned with practical application, innovation, and development needs.
